Language
Disorders

Deficits in language and communication are defining features of many developmental disorders, like autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and schizophrenia.

Our aim is to systematically define the nature of the linguistic and communicative impairments across these disorders. In our research, we examine the patterns of behavioral and brain responses during language processing in patient populations compared to controls to characterize the prevalence, magnitude, and nature (including, possibly, subtypes) of linguistic/communicative impairments. The practical goals of this research are to identify potential biomarkers of impaired linguistic/communicative abilities.
